The Lay table mixes our traditional leather working techniques and digital fabrication to create a poised contrast of architectural and organic shapes.
Vegetable tanned leather is meticulously wrapped and hand saddle stitched around a solid timber cross legged base. We take the ‘lay of the land’ with each slab and board, patching with flush leather inlays to create a surface that is unique to each board. Any knots or splits are carefully patched with complimenting pieces of matching timber to contrast grain and feature.
Leather base: Tumbled vegetable or olive -tanned leathers
Inlay possible in a number of options
Top: Solid native timbers
Ash, sycamore, London plane, elm, oak, fumed oak or walnut
Organic shape and dimensions as required.
