Quarto Utility Basket

A versatile and visually rich storage piece, the Quarto utility basket is constructed from a single side of oak bark tanned bridle leather.

It is hand skived, burnished, stitched and laced using traditional leatherworking techniques that are difficult to achieve but shine on such dense and thick material. The handles and each of the four panels are laced to create a beautifully detailed texture. We make all of our lace from scratch, a painstaking process that involves many steps but produces a superior finish. The Quarto basket’s generous size makes it ideal for a range of household tasks—from storing linen to bringing in the harvest. Lightweight yet strong, the basket is built to last for generations.
