Leatherworks Book

Leatherworks: Traditional craft for modern living was published in 2017 by Quarto books.

Otis created a series of twenty projects for both leathergoods and interior objects, from a belt and satchel, to a wall clock and leather basket. The book was beautifully shot by interior photographer Simon Brown, with a detailed catalogue of hand tools and leather varieties.

Grounded techniques such as hand stitching, lacing and riveting were explored and documented. The approach of the book was broad enough for both novice and experienced leatherworkers to use it for both a step by step guide and a design inspiration and guide book.

Leatherworks was translated into six languages and has so far sold 28,000 copies.
